Infrastructure Case Studies
Main Street Storm Sewer—Brunswick, Maine
The Town of Brunswick hired Aquarion to find a solution to the frequent flooding that plagued parts of Main Street and Park Row. In some instances, the Maine Street intersection would flood up to 18 inches in depth.

We identified that the storm sewer system was undersized, and that significant sediment deposits had accumulated in catch basin sumps and storm drain manholes. After preparing a base plan, we performed visual inspections of the structures' conditions and delineated the gross watershed area. Construction will consist of replacing all trunkline structures with new structures, pipe boots, stubs for existing connections and all stormdrains. Additional side street lines will be installed and connected to the new storm sewers to allow for future side street improvements.

Street Improvement Program—Bath, Maine
Aquarion was contracted to prepare contract documents for full depth road reconstruction for six city streets. The 3,000 feet of road reconstruction included granite curbing, sidewalk, watermain and appurtenances, and stormdrain and sewer separation. Aquarion also prepared contract documents for infrastructure improvements on 22 streets. The improvements varied street to street, but approximately 17,000 feet of street improvements were involved.
